Charity

Ever the multi-taskers, Marketing Zone has come up with a great way to raise money for charity at the same time as developing prize draw marketing promotions for our clients. From the heaving mailbags of competition entries that we receive into the office on behalf of our client’s, we give the stamps to the Wood Green Animal Charity, who use them to raise funds for their animal centre in Cambridgeshire.

Prize draw promotions can be a cost effective way of generating PR and getting your product published in magazines and websites. Or a good way to increase readership of eNewsletters by offering a prize that can generate extra interest, and increase open rates.

Marketing Zone has developed numerous promotions for our clients, including a professional institute, fashion brands and parenting clubs to name just a few. In a time when customers are looking out for great offers, we’ve seen an increase in the level of competition entries. It’s even a professional business for some!

We can source prizes, create the competition, liaise with the press for campaigns and handle the winner fulfilment. Read more…

Always ready for a challenge, I jumped at the opportunity to spend time with my sixteen year old son, as he took on a 229 mile endurance cycle challenge. The route took us from our home town of Buntingford to Aberystwyth on the Welsh coast, and so far this sponsored cycle has raised over £1,500 for cancer charity, Yes to Life.

Training began six weeks before the event, with long distance cycle rides through the countryside, to prepare us for the mountainous terrain of Wales. After a painfully slow start in wet weather things began to look up. With just one puncture along the way, it was great to complete the ride in the 4 days we set ourselves, with compulsory fish ‘n’ chips and hot chocolate on route.

Cycling through thick fog and up Welsh mountains was made that bit easier knowing my son had the backing of everyone at his college and the Mercury newspaper, who reported our success. A big thank you to all those individual sponsors, tutors and businesses including C&Y Scaffolding, LEKA, GPNunn, Buntingford Mowers, J Oliver Radley and Interviewing Services for their generosity and support.

So which do I prefer – a day spent pedalling or a day at Marketing Zone?  I’m going to carry on doing both.

Website design agency HertfordshireIt was great to see student Jack Owen and team from Freman College in Buntingford, collect their prizes for winning Amnesty International’s Youth Raise-Off fundraiser.

With help from one of our clients, Polaroid Eyewear, Marketing Zone had arranged for twenty pairs of sunglasses to be donated to their goody bags, and it was great to see the students enjoying their achievement.

Freman College’s team of twenty students beat 650 other schools and colleges in the UK-wide competition, to raise the most amount of money through a variety of activities including an Amnesty week, a quiz, a Santa’s Grotto and balloon race.

Website design agency donating to Prostate Cancer charity in support of our client, Smart3We’ve managed the website for home automation supplier, Smart3 for a number of years. In October, their Managing Director, Graham is running the London Parks Half Marathon, to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity. We’ve sponsored Graham to take part in the race and wish him good luck!

The Prostate Cancer charity is dear to our hearts, because it’s also the charity partner of the London region of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, another one of our clients. Late last year, Mark grew a ‘Mo’ to support their fundraising, and we’re sure Graham will secure a good time in his marathon.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, and the Prostate Cancer Charity works tirelessly to raise funds for research into the condition, and to support people affected by the disease.

Glee Club Challenge website design HertfordshireThe US high school programme Glee caused a sensation when it launched in the UK two years ago. And it’s taken amateur dramatic clubs and the performing arts world to new heights. We’ve seen this first hand as Marketing Zone developed a logo and website on behalf of The Jack Petchey Foundation, which gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people.

The Glee Club Challenge gives youngsters the opportunity to compete for a chance to perform at the West End’s Savoy Theatre. The website Marketing Zone created for the Challenge provides entrants with all the information they need to take part, and we’ve included the facility to upload demo videos.
