20Online transactions now account for 20% of all credit and debit card spending in the UK according to Barclaycard and IMRG, the UK’s industry association for e-retail.

  • £107 billion is expected to be spent online in 2014. That’s an average of £4,000 per UK household.
  • Online spend is growing at a rate of 11% a year.
  • Mobile sales account for 34% of UK online sales, up from just 1% in 2010.
  • Almost half (48%) of visits to e-commerce websites are from smartphones and tablets (IMRG Capgemini Quarterly Benchmarking)

Little wonder then, that we’re working on another e-commerce website right now. It’s being built with an approach called Responsive Web Design (RWD) that means whether it’s accessed from a PC, tablet or mobile phone it’ll be formatted to suit, making it easy for customers to use.
