What a treat! Marketing Zone’s directors, Mark and Dee took part in a great event for marketers held at Google’s quirky UK HQ in Central St Giles, London.

Google HQOf course as a marketing agency Google is a huge part of the fabric of our world. We use it in so many ways to improve results for our clients. From Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and even for identifying opinion formers and influencers, it is an invaluable resource that extends our capability. But knowing too that Google’s offices are as refreshingly different as its business, it was great to see the place first hand. The 160,000 sq ft HQ is unexpected to say the least, created courtesy of interior designers and architects Penson.

We were welcomed through Google’s reception with its shimmering floor to ceiling Union flag, across a floor of TV screens to the ‘Library’ with its circular seating and tassled room dividers as well as snug nooks for quiet conversations. The presentation itself took place in the ‘Town Hall’, a room worthy of the Pompidou Centre with its exposed ceiling pipework. Marketing words of wisdom were shared, loud and clear with superb audio-visual including a video wall that ran the length of the room. All in all, a stimulating event.
