Built in WordPress, the new website has been designed to provide a professional and user-friendly online catalogue for SDA’s extensive range of specialist door security accessories, with a clear focus on serving trade wholesalers and commercial buyers.
The site combines a clean product-led design with powerful eCommerce functionality, making it easy for wholesale customers to browse the product range, place orders, and access tailored pricing.
A key requirement for SDA was the ability to keep pricing private from the general public while still providing a seamless ordering experience for approved trade customers. To achieve this, we integrated WooCommerce to manage the product catalogue, shopping basket, and order handling, while ensuring the website remains scalable for future growth.
One of the most important features is that prices are only visible to logged-in users, allowing SDA to maintain a trade-only pricing structure. This ensures that wholesalers can quickly access their agreed rates once logged into their account, while public visitors can still browse the full range of products.
To support SDA’s flexible pricing model, we also implemented a role-based pricing plugin, enabling the business to assign different pricing levels to different customer groups. This is ideal for wholesalers operating on varying discount structures and allows SDA to offer a more personalised service online.
In addition, the website supports bespoke price lists, giving SDA the ability to provide tailored rates for specific customers and trade accounts. For selected specialist or variable items, products can also be displayed as “Price on Application”, encouraging direct enquiries where pricing may depend on order size, specification, or market conditions.
The end result is a highly functional wholesale eCommerce website that balances product visibility with controlled trade pricing, while making day-to-day order processing far more efficient.
