Community
A communications company where community matters
At Marketing Zone, we’re committed to supporting local good causes. For us, it’s not about talking a good story – our Directors put in the time and effort with practical help. We have a particular focus on supporting young people and on sports development.
After spending ten years as Treasurer for local youth football club, Buntingford Cougars, our M.D. Mark Ganellin has been elected as Vice President for the Club. He ran the London 10k for charity – just to prove he can. Mark’s been a business adviser to several start-ups funded by the Princes Trust, helping young people make a success of their lives through self-employment. Mark is often asked to speak on business courses for college students and has given his time as a marketing adviser for the Lionheart Challenge.
Dee Twomey, our Communications Director, has been an active fundraiser for local schools, raising thousands towards new projects. She was invited to become a Panel Member for the Local Network Fund, assessing grant applications made to this Department for Children Schools & Families (DfCSF) fund. She also spent ten years supporting the Princes Trust as a volunteer, initially as a business adviser and panel member assessing grant applications, and later as the Chair of the PR Group and Board Member for Hertfordshire.
Marketing Zone has also sponsored colleagues and clients in a wide variety of charitable endeavours, often sports or youth related. In fact, we like helping young people so much, that we take on student placements from the local college. We also give university students the chance to work with us on development projects. The opportunities are limited, but the students lucky enough to take part gain practical knowledge that will help them in their careers.
