The argument for and against going to University seems to change as often as the tides. Are university fees to high? Which courses are the best? Is getting into the workplace more valuable than studying in the present climate?

Marketing Zone’s Dee recently joined the alumni for the University of Brighton and was asked to offer a personal view on the value of her degree. Dee studied BA Business Studies with Marketing, graduating in 1986 when Brighton Uni was a Polytechnic. It may be a while ago, but the lessons learned have stayed with Dee. After graduating, she jumped straight into a job in retail pub marketing for a brewery. Other roles followed this before Dee set up Marketing Zone in 1997 and the rest as they say is history.

Take a look at Brighton’s alumni newsletter to see Dee’s published comments on page 25 under the name Deirdre Twomey.
